Undergraduate Institution: University of Notre Dame
Research Interests: McDonnell's research examines the development of child socio-emotional functioning and autobiographical memory in relation to parenting within the contexts of maltreatment, autism spectrum disorder, and typical development. She is interested in the translational implications of research on emotion, memory, and parent-child reminiscing for interventions for youth and families, including those affected by maltreatment, neurodevelopmental disorders, or both. More broadly, she is interested in understanding the processes that confer risk and resilience across development.
