Profile
Dr. Lefever is presently involved in the data collection and management of four longitudinal multi-site projects pertaining to child abuse and neglect and its impact on early child development. The first two projects explore the influence of early risk factors (adolescent parenting, low socio-economic status, depression, etc.) on children‚s developmental trajectories. Two recent projects assess the ability of home-based parenting interventions to increase positive interactions between at-risk mothers and their children ˆ therefore preventing child abuse and neglect and its negative consequences.
