Research Interest: 

Mitchell's research is focused on the effects of marital conflict on the family system and children's adjustment.  She is specifically interested in the role of the father in children's development, as well as the use of prevention and intervention programs to help prevent and/or stop the negative effects of conflict on children and the family.
