Research Interests: Lori is broadly interested in cognitive development. Specifically, she focuses on symbolic understanding in the domain of mathematics. She is particularly interested in children's ability to use concrete objects (e.g., counters) and arbitrary conventional symbols (e.g., the equal sign) as representations of abstract mathematical concepts.
