The Me and My Family Project is a prospective longitudinal study that was begun in the fall of 1999 with the goal of better understanding family relations as well as children's development in their families. This project is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, and has research sites at both the University of Notre Dame and the University of Rochester.

The initial funding period extended through 2005, with the study continuing over three consecutive years for an intial sample of over 230 families. After obtaining further support from the National Institute of Mental Health, the project was begun again in the summer of 2006, and will once again bring these families in for two visits per year over three consecutive years.

Vists are very engaging and will involve questionnaires, interviews, and other interactive activities for the families. There are many valuable learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students for working with families and children and for learning about family studies. Although previous families will be returning, we are also looking for new families with a child in the seventh grade.

Families will be compensated for their participation. If you are interested in participating, please contact the project office at (574) 631-8987.
