Suicide Prevention Initiative—Research, Intervention, & Training (SPIRIT)
Theodore Beauchaine is William K. Warren Foundation Professor of Psychology and Co-director of the Notre Dame Suicide Prevention Initiative. His research focuses on (1) biological vulnerabilities to and environmental risk factors for nonsuicidal self-injury and suicidal behaviors; (2) behavioral impulsivity, including pathways from ADHD to more serious outcomes across the lifespan; and (3) emotion dysregulation, including difficulties suppressing negative affect when doing so is advantageous.
