Undergraduate Programs
The Department of Psychology offers two different majors. If you are interested in exploring psychology or neuroscience, please contact Director of Undergraduate Studies Anré Venter.
Psychology Major
Psychology majors achieve a balance among basic psychological principles, research methods and theories, and their application to applied areas such as child education and development, aging, and developmental disabilities. Undergraduates can earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. The department also serves those students who are interested in psychology as part of a broader liberal arts program or to supplement another major interest.
Neuroscience and Behavior Major
Neuroscience creates a context for scholarly conversation about the nature of mind, brain, and behavior. It engages experts in collaboration across diverse fields, including biological sciences, chemistry, computer science, engineering, linguistics, mathematics, medicine, philosophy, physics and psychology. The Neuroscience and Behavior major is offered in collaboration with the College of Science. Undergraduates can earn a Bachelor of Arts degree through the College of Arts and Letters’ Department of Psychology or a Bachelor of Science degree through the College of Science.
