Kaylin Hill

Biography

Dr. Hill is an assistant professor of psychology and the director of the Psychophysiology of Affect across the Lifespan (PAL) Lab. She earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Purdue University and completed her postdoctoral fellowship in developmental psychopathology at Vanderbilt University. As a clinical psychologist, the ultimate aim of Dr. Hill’s work is to reduce the tremendous burden of depression on individuals and families. She pursues this goal by seeking answers to unresolved questions regarding the interplay of person-level vulnerabilities and context-level risk factors, and how this interplay contributes to the development of psychopathology over time. She uses a multimethod approach, particularly electroencephalography (EEG), to clarify basic pathophysiological processes, understand their development, particularly within families, and ultimately translate this work to clinical applications.
