My overall research interest focuses on better understanding the developmental cascade of how family dynamics (e.g., conflict, communication, culture) shape specific youth characteristics (e.g., emotional security, moral engagement, self-control) that are critical to adjustment outcomes. I am particularly interested in family intervention and translational research that aims to apply the empirical findings to our real-life communities. In this line of research, I aim to investigate how the sociocultural variability in family dynamics could be better reflected in intervention and research designs.
