Biography
Dr. Taylor R. Nicoletti is a licensed clinical psychologist and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Notre Dame. Her primary role centers on clinical training, supervision, teaching, and program development in child and family mental health care. She provides training and clinical supervision to doctoral students and mental health clinicians in the delivery of evidence-based assessments and interventions for children, adolescents, and families, with a particular focus on strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care with Black children and families.
Dr. Nicoletti’s clinical expertise focuses on child and adolescent trauma, including exposure to interpersonal and community violence, as well as the ways families respond, recover, and heal in the aftermath of trauma. Her work emphasizes improving access to high-quality, community-based mental health care for Black youth and families, particularly in urban and under-resourced settings where structural violence shapes risk, access to care, and opportunities for recovery. Across her clinical, teaching, supervision, and community partnership work, Dr. Nicoletti is committed to advancing care that supports safety, recovery, and thriving for historically marginalized children and families.
At Notre Dame, Dr. Nicoletti helps lead child and family clinical training initiatives through the Veldman Family Psychology Clinic, where she provides clinical teaching and supervision to the next generation of clinical psychologists and mental health clinicians. As a native of South Bend, Indiana, she is deeply committed to the wellbeing, healing, and thriving of children and families in South Bend and the surrounding region.
Dr. Nicoletti’s primary role is clinical training and teaching; she does not admit graduate students.
